Tomb Raider levels |
Tomb of Qualopec is the fourth level of Tomb Raider and the last level in Peru. In it, Lara discovers the burial place of the king Qualopec. She finds the first piece of the Scion and barely escapes with her life after a confrontation with Larson.
The Tomb of Qualopec is Peru's final offering to Lara. It is deliberately hidden behind the Lost Valley's waterfall. The stone is coloured with a timeworn crimson and its rooms consist of nasty traps and barriers that inconveniently protect Qualopec's throne room. Perhaps the presence of this throne room depicts that this tomb may have been more than a simple barricade to protect Qualopec and his piece of the Scion.
The Tomb of Qualopec owns rooms that resemble pugnacious trials - that of a wolf pit and a strange puzzle room that owns bloodied spikes. These trials are no match for Lara, however, and progressing forward she uncovers Qualopec's skeletal remains, centuries-dead and still seated on his throne. On either side of him, however, are Egyptian mummies - Lara's first inkling that Qualopec was not a normal King, but in fact a remnant of much older history, and something much more perilous.
