Shangri-La is a fictional place described to be a mystical, harmonious valley. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise isolated from the world[1].
History[]
Shangri-La is located on Kanchenjuna [sic], the third highest mountain in the world, located in the Himalayas. The southern wall is shrouded in perpetual fog and considered to be impossible to reach. It is there that a doorway is hidden, with a combination lock that opens a rock door. The way to the city is protected by death traps and the guardians, Fen Tai. The city also only appears for few days each year and then disappears again. No one knows where, Mu'Tin, the de-facto leader, even theorized it might move into another dimension. There are about 1200 citizens living in Shangri-La, almost the same as when the city was constructed. Few explorers have found their way there and have decided to stay. In fact leaving is prohibited in fear of revealing the existence of the hidden city to outside world. Those who still decide to leave are hunted down by the Fen Tai, and are turned into the Fen Tai themselves via a magic amulet[2].
