Sayri is a character mentioned in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Biography[]
Sayri and his brother Amaru are the descendants of Manko. Sayri was adventurous and liked to explore. As kids and brothers they did fight with each other, but resolved their issues within minutes. They had a secret hideaway in the mountains.
Although Amaru was older, Sayri was in line of becoming the leader of Paititi. Sayri and Amaru often disagreed on the future of Paititi.
Sayri was gifted the Champion's Bow during his wedding to Unuratu as a gesture of joining the two families. The bow was crafted by Unuratu's ancestors from the first Ceiba tree near Paititi. Sayri lost the bow with a confrontation with the Nahual. Sayri loved to visit the market with his wife Unuratu, and they held hands when they moved between the the stalls.
When the famine hit Paititi, Sayri and Amaru fought on how to feed the villagers. Amaru volunteered to seek help from the outside world, but Sayri insisted that as king, the responsibility was his. Afterwards Sayri went to hunt alone beyond the village, he was killed during the hunt. Amaru was grief-stricken and took control of Paititi, blaming himself on not being fast enough with his decision. Amaru has Sayri buried in their secret hideout in the mountains.
Unuratu appointed their friend Uchu to be, his son, Etzli's surrogate father. After the deaths of Amaru and Unuratu, Etzli became the leader of Paititi.
