Raising Thaumopolis is a one part episode of Revisioned: Tomb Raider animated series. The story is written by Michael Stackpole, the artist is Louie Del Carman.
Plot[]
Lara Croft is looking for Thaumopolis, a sunken city in the Mediterranean Sea. After another swim, she is bothered that it is harder to find than Atlantis. Suddenly a man introducing himself as Anton Cooper speaks on her boat, offering to take Lara to the city in exchange for her piece of the armory key. Apparently Liberty Project has another four key fragments and are intent on resurrecting the Thaumopolean lethal legion. The Liberty Project had made replicas of the missing two pieces, but using them would trigger a safeguard and the resulting explosion would shift a tectonic plate and case a massive tsunami. Anton Cooper offers his and Lara's key fragments to open the door to prevent that. Lara opened a door and the guardian asked who will claim the prize, Cooper offered Lara, but Mr. Madison disputed her claim and the guardian sent them to dream chamber for a competition. The death is the dream chamber would be real. The first test was about what element destroyed the most. Mr. Madison guessed water as the Thaumopoleans sank their city, but Lara combined the elements forming a man, as the Thaumopoleans believed the man to be the combination of elements. Lara won the first round. The second test was to defeat some creatures by the first light. Mr. Madison was quicker on picking up the color pattern of a dawn: red, orange, yellow. He won the second round. The third test was to find a door that represents summer out of a circle of doors marked with astrological signs, while a roof with spikes is descending. Lara thinks out loud that Cancer would be the start. Mr. Madison rushes past Lara and runs through a door, falling to his death. Lara then through further, and took account the time the Thaumopoleans lived, and then it would be Pisces. She was correct and won the prize of her choosing. Lara choose a part of Thaumopolean nesting doll she was missing from her collection. When leaving Anton Cooper revealed that the guardian had been his son. He blasted the entrance to the city collapsing it and sinking the key fragments.
