Maria Barrata is a character in the comic Tomb Raider / The Darkness Special.
Biography[]
Maria Barrata is the wife of a criminal Dino Barrata. Dino had the Pendant of Cleopatra stolen, as he though it would help Maria to be more attractive to him. The powers of the pendant was too strong however, and drove the men to madness, who then killed themselves over Maria. Maria was unable to stop them, nor able to remove the pendant. Lara Croft and Jackie Estacado came looking for the pendant, but Jackie fell under the pendant's enchantment. Lara managed to toss one of the darklings to snap the pendant and break the spell.[1]
