Kukulkan is an ancient Mayan god depicted as a Mesoamerican serpent deity, often associated with death, rebirth, and celestial power. He is worshiped by a fictional civilization and plays a central role in the plot as a divine force linked to disasters and ancient rituals.

Biography[]

Kukulkan is an ancient Mesoamerican serpent deity at the heart of the apocalyptic ritual known as The Cleansing. Pedro Dominguez—secretly Amaru, an exiled prince of Paititi raised by the Trinity organization—claims to be the living incarnation of Kukulkan. His goal is to prevent the death of the Sun and reshape the world to protect Paititi at any cost, even if it means triggering a series of cataclysms.

When Lara Croft steals the sacred Dagger of Chak Chel from Cozumel, she unintentionally sets off a prophecy. Dominguez takes the artifact, causes a tsunami, and begins seeking the Silver Box of Ix Chel to complete a ritual that would allow him to absorb Kukulkan's divine power.

After an epic confrontation, Lara kills Dominguez and inherits part of the god's power. Tempted to use it to bring her parents back to life, she resists and allows Crimson Fire, leader of the Yaaxil, to symbolically sacrifice the spirit of Kukulkan. This act halts the apocalypse, restores light to the world, and brings renewed hope to the lost city of Paititi.[1]
