José is a character appearing in Tomb Raider: Journeys comics.
Biography[]
José is a fisherman in a Peruvian village. He saw Lara Croft wash ashore and went to check on her. He brought her to the village to recover, and saw a coin from El Dorado on her. Later, Eduardo showed them where the entrance is and José went with Lara to explore the caves. They found the treasure, but sprung a trap. José's hand was broken by a falling rock. They took another way out, but suddenly lava was coming after them. José told Lara to go alone as the way to safety meant swimming, but Lara didn't leave José behind and dragged him ashore. Lara then gave one of the gold amulets they found to José to save his village.[1]
