The Earl of Farringdon was engaged to be married to Lady Amelia de Mornay, something that had been arranged by their parents. Amelia however didn't have feeling for the Earl of Farringdon. After meeting Lord Richard Croft, Amelia broke off the engagement to the Earl, and married Richard Croft.
