Daji (妲己, pinyin: Dájǐ) is the fox spirit of China.
Biography[]
According to the myth, Emperor Tianxi Xing was granted a magical ruby by the gods, which he used to make China great. A fox spirit Daji was said to have seduced the emperor and steal the ruby.
The story in Daji's tomb was different however. Daji saw the Wrath Stone poisoning the emperor, and stole the ruby to free him of it. She then gave the stone to Sisters of Nu'wa to hide the stone forever. Daji was imprisoned near the stone.
When her tomb was unearthed during an avalanche, Daji managed to manifest herself to people, and influenced some kids to find their way to her coffin. Lara Croft figured out that Daji wanted to be released, and did that. This released the kids from the trance. Lara asked for Daji's help to find their way out of a collapsed tunnel, and she showed her the way.[1]
Daji later appeared to Lara Croft when she was unconscious and healing. Daji asked Lara to take the Peril Stones to Kunlun Mountains and give them to Nu'wa.[2]
