Andres Lopez was a Jesuit missionary from Spain, who was also a member of Trinity.
Biography[]
In 1603, Andres Lopez was sent to find the Silver Box of Ix Chel in Paititi by the Trinity High Council. He was accompanied by Truylos Serrano, and a group of twelve soldiers, and two molossers. During his time spent in Paititi, Lopez became disillusion with Trinity, and befriended the emperor Sinchi Chiqa. Lopez confessed his mission to the emperor, and together they plotted to hide the box from Trinity. Lopez and his men went into the Cenote, and fought the Yaaxil. Only Andres Lopez and Truylos Serrano reached the room where the Silver Box was held.
Lopez left Paititi with the box and found the Mission of San Juan in the West near many stone faces. Lopez also renamed himself Angel de la Cruz to cover the tracks from Trinity. He left behind clues for Sinchi Chiqa's descendants to follow when the time came to retrieve the box and reignite the sun. He built up the mission, which only had three members at that time. More people came and a village formed around it over time.
Andres Lopez however was corrupted by the Silver Box of Ix Chel, and he went mad. Lopez let himself be walled inside a tomb under the secret tunnels of the Mission with the Silver Box, as he came to believe no one should have it.

- The character called Andres Lopez is based on the real life Jesuit missionary named Andres Lopez who was active around the 1600s.
- He wrote reports to the Jesuit archive in Rome, detailing how he found a city rich with gold, silver and jewellery and the natives called it Paititi.
- The reports even spoke of a miracle which occurred in the court of the King of Paititi through a crucifix which was brought there by a group of baptized natives.
